Mother’s Day comes but once a year….. and it can be a monumental pain in the ass!
My mum is super super fussy and every year I wrack my brains to come up with something she either does not already have or would really, really love. I am looking for the ‘wow’ factor for her, she really does deserve it, but after years of wastefully buying disposable fashion and trinkets galore, we are now a ‘must-have’ only kinda outfit.
We’d much rather be frugal and save for a show-stopping Chanel bag or a drop-dead-gorgeous pair of shoes from Prada. So spending needless pounds on tat just ain’t gonna cut it. The gifts need to be worth the wonga.
My mum’s birthday is a mere day apart from Mother’s Day – so I need to double up on the gifts in March and have a real good scout around for goodies.
A loving token, a thoughtful gift is all that’s required for our mummies on their special day, but some people go all out and spoil theirs rotten so I’ve compiled my list of the top spring buys for this coming Mother’s Day. Enjoy x
Memories are the best gift you can give, and me and my mum are off to make some new ones at The Royal Albert Hall on Mother’s Day this year. A tour round the Iconic building that is a global landmark and then a scrumptious champagne afternoon tea to wash it down. I cannot wait!
A feast for her face, this YSL Blur Primer will give her red carpet skin and a feeling of luxury that can’t usually be bought.
My mum is an avid Vivienne Westwood fan and these delicious earrings from Mainline are just the ticket to get me firmly in the good books.
Forget cashmere, these alpaca bed socks from StephieAnn are British made and ethereal in design, making them a touch of luxury for your beloved mum.
Philip Kingsley is my absolute fave haircare brand – clean and shining every time – and my mum loves the range too so I will be getting a few of his hair heroes to put in her gift basket.
I picked up a pretty french Lavender soap from Paperchase which was just so beautifully wrapped I knew it would make a pretty, dinky, purse-friendly little extra.
My mum loves a bit of colour for the summer, so as I use Nouvatan for all my spray tanning – read all about that sideline of mine here – I got her the handy travel Nouvaglow kit which comes in a pretty organza bag, to top up whenever she goes on her regular little jaunts with my Dad.
Her main gift will be this stunning leather Emilibag from Moda In Pelle. Made from baby soft luxurious Italian leather, this cute tote will hold all her motherly bits and bobs and then some. I particularly love the discreet contrast metallic on the interior.
Joan Collins epitomises elegance and style and her range of make up and body care is no exception to that style. my mum loves a bath, so these indulgent bath salts from the I Am Woman range will be a real treat.
Tea is her favourite tipple without a doubt and I had no hesitation in snapping up one of these beautiful tea sets from Oteas – she will just love it. A real minimalist set, this will delight any tea Jenny and let them show off their tea making skill to their guests with this classy glassy ensemble.
Pampering for the skin is a fail-safe winner for most mums, so this luxe pure ruby crystal scrub from Goldfaden MD is couture for the skin.
A beautiful bit of bling never goes wrong and this gorgeous pendant from Tresor will be a sure fire winner!
I’ve been eyeing up these fab baskets on Instagram for a while now and found a lush one from Heavenly Homes on Etsy which will be great in any room or garden. I’m hoping my mum will be really chuffed with this sparkly little number!
Unless she is off chocolate for lent, you just gotta throw in some lush chocolates for her to nibble. I love Guylian as they are bursting with the finest Belgian chocolate and praline flavour combo I can’t get enough of!
I hope this has provided you with some inspo for not only Mothers Day but gorgeous gift-giving all year round.
Thanks to all of the lovely brands featured here for sending me some lush products to choose from!
