It’s no secret by now that although I adore my high end purchases, my favourite go-to store in the High Street is without a doubt, River Island.

Always there to provide an affordable funky top for a spontaneous night out, the perfect skinny jean or a must-have pair of boots or summer sandals with sass!

Recently, I had a Spring Haul from RI-RI which you can see on my You Tube channel here and I just wanted to share with you my latest lust-have for Spring/Summer, an easy wear piece which will dress up a pair of jeans and a vest top into a fab look which carries from day into evening with the right accessories.

This spring ‘coat’ – well what else would you call it?? – cost £65 as I remember, bit of a bargain when I think of how much wear I’ve had from it and not to mention the compliments!

I was at a blogger conference with my girl Emma when I first wore it and so many people came up to ask where it was from. I was loathe to tell them as I didn’t want every man and his dog wearing it but that’s high street disposable fashion for you!

I did cave in and share the love though, you will be glad to know, so I’m sure sales went up a fair bit that day.

So, check out the swirl when you twirl on this one – isn’t it lush? Maybe it’s my inner Princess but I love the feeling of a fabric that gives great twirl!

We had a little shoot later on location at Somerset House which is still one of my favourite places in London, despite no longer being the home of London Fashion Week.

I love the easy care fabric of this, which River Island are known for. Shove it in the wash and it comes out like a ribbon. No fuss which suits me down to the ground in a house full of boys who create washing like it is going out of fashion!

I teamed it with my favourite TKMaxx ripped jeans – which are just covered enough with lace to hide my cellulite: win! – and a simple Zara beige vest top which brought out the neutral hues in the floral pattern of the coat.

Finished off with a pair of vintage Dior earrings and necklace, natch! and a super ancient pair of Prada pumps for London walking comfort and I was rollin’.

What do you think of this outfit? What would you team with it? Do you think it is great value? Do you love River Island too?
