Exciting, as a girl can never have too many varnishes and I was keen as mustard to try them out. I plumped for Vintage Violet first as I had picked up an identical purple-hued jumper the previous day and I am a matchy-matchy kind of a girl!

First impression – and I didn’t have high hopes as I wasn’t overly familiar with the brand – was Wow! Rich and luxurious in texture, this polish gave me full opacity in just one coat! I expected to need at least two. I love a colour rich, full-bodied look and this sure fulfilled the brief. As a busy mum of two, I really don’t have time to faff around with nail polish, smudging it, getting toes stuck to each other as I hurriedly shove my piggies into shoes before I’m touch dry, whilst simultaneously trying to herd my boys to their next social engagement or activity. This polish ticked my boxes because not only did it look great fast, but it dried quickly, was easy to glide on with virtually no brush overload and – this is killer clincher for me – it was on for a week and was still chip free! Not bad considering my two terrors like to stand on my sighing tootsies on a daily – no, make that hourly – basis!

Fast forward a week and after easy clean removal of the VV colour, I mixed it up a little and opted for A Royal Affair. A richer, deeper purple which reminded me of the hazelnut with caramel one in a tin of Quality Street! As I had a night out the following evening, I vamped up the look with a subtle glitter fade polish, which worked beautifully with the Nella one, showing its versatility off to a tee! It’s so well priced, and with regular special offers, I can easily order myself a plethora of colours online at www.nellamilano.com without giving myself a guilt trip! Have you tried Nella Milano polishes yet? If so, let me know which one is your favourite!
