What is Love Support Unite? Aside from a motto to live by, its an under-the-radar charity which is doing mind blowing work creating a cycle of sustainability in Malawi.

I saw that eye roll! No, before you presume, they don’t have ridiculous overheads which fund their own lavish lifestyle, no, they don’t throw money at these gargantuan problems and then walk away and no, they absolutely don’t run it from swanky London offices and never set foot on the soil of the problem.

Well, that’s the impression we get about many third world country charities isn’t it? Press and media coverage has sadly opened our eyes to a lot of bureaucratic inefficiencies and money pit charities.

This one is very different.

This gorgeous charity founded by two selfless sisters whose love of humanity outweighed their own plans for the future.

Teaching those in need to become empowered and self sustainable became their focus and alongside the inspired addition of Gayle Berry, the team strengthened and now their tireless fundraising, including the sales of their love-tinted diffraction spectacles that turn points of light into fractal rainbow hearts, realises dreams every single day.

Along with Gayle, I threw an intimate dinner party recently to celebrate the launch of the new Love Specs colours just in time for festival season.

On a balmy evening in South London, we got the best Denby tableware out and were treated to a delectable dinner by the fabulous Dine Indulge chef who came round to throw a culinary delight. I always wondered how a private chef works and I have to say, the stressless organisation by the company convinced me that every dinner party going forward will be sorted by these guys. It was amazing.

Complimenting the Denby pottery to perfection, the gastronomical delights were created by our personal chef for the evening, Lee. He kicked off with an amouse bouche of Pistachio & Rose Water Marshmallow with a Cardamom Wafer – oh my, it was superb!

Washed down with my newest discovery Bosco Del Merlo in both white and rose. Such a light, pleasurable Prosecco, this is my new go to since that night. Glera grapes at their finest!

Onto our exquisite starter of Crispy Pea & Mint Fritter with Avocado Butter & Pico de Gallo

Main was a carnivorous affair for most of us with Dry Aged British Rib Eye
with Spiced Carrot Puree, Feta & Dill Cake, Rocket Salad & Lemon Brown Butter Sauce and for our token veggie for the evening: Balsamic Glazed Goats Cheese & Pickled Beetroot Pastry Tartine with Warm Kale & Sesame Sala

How fancy is this? We then had a pre-dessert!!! Served to a gaggle of bubble infused giddy females, what a winner! Lemon & Thyme Ricotta Granita with Hazelnut Popping Candy

And just when we thought we could eat no more, out came the pud! White & Dark Chocolate Ginger Silk Mousse with Honey Crumb Crunch

Yes, we were stuffed but so happy! Whilst we devoured, Lee cleaned up the kitchen and soon it looked like he’d never been there at all and off he went! It was the most delicious, fuss free dinner party I’ve ever known.

We go on a lot of girls weekend breaks and have often toyed with hiring in a service like this but always held back – now I’m going to champion this as once we all chip in, it’s so affordable.

Booking was so easy, all menu combos are clearly set out with pricing, making it the most straightforward booking possible.

So, back to the Lovespecs, a rainbow of sorbet colours were the toast of the evening, with each of us being drawn to our faves.

At only a tenner, what better way to sport the look whilst help fund the greater good?

I’m a bit obsessed with a quality goody bag, even (or especially) for my kids birthday parties, so in true quality not quantity style, this one was no exception. Those lovelies at KGA Beauty were kind enough to supply us with 40ml Jimmy Choo fragrances, boy did we smell fabulous! And my favourite candle people, Wax Lyrical, who I’ve spoken about many a time, here and here amongst others, provided us each with a stunning scented number to rival any other. Of course, everyone go to take away their favourite pair of Lovespecs, well we couldn’t have prised them off them if we’d tried!

We sipped on our Bosco and chatted the night away, toasting the launch – thanks to my lovely ladies for coming, Jo @lobellaloves, Vickie @inpolife, Antonia @tinkertailoronline, Christina @thismamadoes, Nic from @thisgirlcanorganise and of course Gayle for co-hosting.

It’s true you really can’t beat a girls night in, especially when it feels like a night out!

Until next time my lovelies!
