AD – This post was written as part of my paid partnership with centreMK but all creative control is mine , all feelings and thoughts are my honest opinion as always*

New Year is a funny old time isn’t it? Half the population make resolute resolutions to change their lives (usually setting themselves up for a fast fall!) and the other half (mainly everyone on my instagram feed this year) firmly rebuke any notion of New Year New You and focus instead on nurturing your already fabulous self.

Neither way is wrong of course, it’s all relative after all but whichever route you chose you will probably need some tools for the job.

First off, I went to Milton Keynes to my favourite shopping centre to do my banking, get myself up to date after the festive season and make sure everything that needed to be paid was done and see what budget I had left over for some little treats.

Step 1: I took myself off to Paperchase and got myself a pretty new planner because little refresh touches always make me feel motivated.  I got this one but I also have this ‘my mindful mind’ one in my sights.

Step 2 was to thrust myself headlong into adulting and get a proper yoga mat.
Everyone raves about the power of this practice, for mindfulness inside and out, so it’s time to give it a go at the gym.

Step 3. Natty new workout outfit, well, any excuse!

I whizzed round centre:mk for some new bits because there’s nothing less motivating than frayed faded lycra! Gotta hit that goal in 2019 so an activewear update is essential.

We are often to be found in JD Sports as my boys are obsessed, hence the reason people buy them so many JD vouchers for Christmas and birthdays (thank you fam and friends!) but I’m quite partial to a shop there myself so I found this dynamic Nike sports bra top and had to have it. Obvs the boy couldn’t leave without a purchase…..

TKMaxx is my main go to for affordable activewear, among the rails there is a goldmine of size severance and luxe label overdose at affordable prices. One of my best ever finds in there was a fab Karl Lagerfeld sweater with my signature sparkle for £29,.99 and I wear it all the time.

The shops are still choc full of sales bargains and I was able to pick up a few pieces without hacking my budget to oblivion.

Step 4. Little cheeky manicure from Champneys Spa at centre:mk because you (and I) are worth it! There is nothing that say sorted more than a good mani which not only makes you feel fab but makes you look polished and primed. Nothing like a good pamper to make you feel good.

Step 5. Nothing says self care like a beautiful scented candle and around centre;mk you can get them from as little as a couple of pounds, right up to the cream of the crop if your budget is big time!

I love the selection in Clintons and buy most of my Yankee candles from there.

Other fave candle shops are The White Company, TKMaxx (they sell everything!!!) , John Lewis and L’occitane to name but a few.

So that’s my easy 5 point plan to get myself focused in Jan without compromising so ‘me time’.

Easily done with so much to choose from for little treats on our doorstep!

How do you look after yourself post Christmas without breaking the bank? I’d love to hear your tips!

Until next time lovelies.
