Being a redhead & celebrate USA with my fab Muklet competition at www.ginger-mum.com

Everyone who knows me and our family know that being redheads is a massive thing to us. It is our stand-out recognisable feature and one which I play up with the kids. This is simply because I finally, in them, see the unique delicate beauty which I never could in myself, despite daily kind comments and affirmations of envy from others. I want them to be confident in themselves and know that they are beautiful, and probably my husband is the one person who deserves the credit for my wholehearted acceptance of the Ginger gene.

It’s no secret I’ve really struggled with how I looked until recently and on occasion I still feel just like that. I wrote a hugely popular post about ‘embracing your insecurities‘ here, and it went on to be published on the Huffington Post for all to see. When we sponsored a school, feeding children for a whole year recently with  Mary’s Meals, we even got to call the school Ginger Towers, read all about it here.

So nowadays I celebrate it and I’m not the only one! One of my fave blogs around is How To Be A Redhead where two stunning sassy sisters from the U.S.A. put the negativity around being redheads firmly to bed. Celebrating the Ginger gene is what they are all about and they are making a special appearance at Redhead Days Chicago on 4th & 5th June. Redheads represent 2% of the population and we are proud to be unique!

To celebrate my fellow titian goddesses and all things American, I’ve teamed up with fab brand Muklet whose creator Laura is a mum just like us, except fashion design is in her blood and she is doin’ it for the kids. Sick of not being able to find what she wanted to dress her children in, she went out on a limb and created it herself. How sassy is that? Pre-kids she worked at Ralph Lauren (Love you Ralph!) Barbour and Jack Wills and you can’t get any more preppy than that! She took her knowledge, design talent and her desire to work around her two darling boys and Muklet was born.

American inspired varsity vibes, her signature ‘Lil Letterman’ range of products are all designed and specifically made for Muklet in the USA. After they reach our shores they are hand crafted onto the finished product.

Vintage Posters, Cards and Memorabilia have been sourced and curated by Laura. Most of which is from the USA, particularly from the Retro era. It is then hand crafted and upcycled into the gifts and homewares across the range.

So with the US gingers ready to party,  no celebration is complete without a gift and Muklet have kindly offered one of their gorgeous baseball jackets for one of my readers to mark the occasion.
