It’s no secret that East London is our spiritual home – our eldest son is a Hackney boy and we go back and visit as often as possible. Former residents of Isle Of Dogs, Canary Wharf, we love the old East End charm and it’s really where I feel I first truly started to find myself.

When I was taking my girl Emma Mumford away for a girlie break which included a photo shoot session in our fave Insta spots including Peggys, we were asked to review the InterContinental London – The O2 and I didn’t have to think twice.

I wasn’t actually prepped for the ‘wow’ views, the top notch cuisine and the fancy pants bar, no to mention the most crisp and potent prosecco and cocktails we’ve had in a long while!

We excitedly swiped open our room door to find the most spectacular scenery right across the iconic Canary Wharf complex and over the City.

Time for a quick explore of the hotel to get the lay of the land, it had everything going on – the spa and pool were amazing!

We managed a mini photoshoot in the hotel pre dinner, as I was looking for some nice dress haul shots and a drink in the bar which gave us our first ‘wow’ moment with 270 degree Vista windows which capture spectacular views, come rain or shine.

Meanwhile, we were treated to a gastro triumph, and were delighted to be able to chat to the Head Chef, and hear all about the produce sourced locally, which stars on their extensive menu.

By the time we had dinner we were ravenous and there was more than enough to satisfy and then some.It took us a while to choose, I didn’t want to have food envy after all!

You know me though folks, first, bubbles!!!

That literally was just for starters!

Then on to mains, I can never resist steak when I’m out out, it’s my fave treat, so I went with a mouthwatering Surrey 21 day aged Fillet steak with some sauteed greens on the side, whilst Emma plumped for her go-to staple which in this case was the Chef’s recipe sumptuous Surrey beef burger with sweet potato fries.

Utterly delicious and cooked to perfection, we had to admit defeat prematurely to save room for pud!

This came in the taste bud tingling form of an iced banoffee parfait, torched banana, salted caramel, sesame tuille to share, as we were simply bursting at the seams by then, but in a satisfied happy way – insert laughing emoji!

We were fortunate enough to be invited to the breathtaking location of the 18 Skybar. I had thought the bar we went to in the afternoon, the Clipper Bar had amazing views but our breath was quite royally taken as we swept into panorama central high above the London life below.

All happy hazy from the generous measures and the exquisite dinner and as I watched the nightlife of London weave around the streets below from my peak view I just felt so relaxed and ready for a great nights sleep. We wall know there’s nothing like a sleep in a hotel when you have kids at home, peace and tranquility central.

We slept like Queens that night, the beds are so snuggly, rooms all perfectly equipped with everything you need and we were such happy bunnies in there we even ordered room service breakfast to finish off in style.

I loved our stay there, would go back in a heartbeat and it is a great place to take the kids with so much around the hotel and the local area to do with the O2, the Emirates cable cars, Greenwich Park and scores of other options.

Hope I haven’t made you too hungry! Until next time my lovelies! xxx
