Frilly, flouncy, girly and romantic – on paper, not really a look I should still be pulling off, of given that in two short months I will be nearer to 50 than I am to 40 – what a thought!

However, avoiding the mutton dressed as lamb look but still rocking a ruffle is right up my street and when I popped into the H&M showroom last week, my radar took me straight to this trio.

Not for me the boxy shapes, geo patterns or neutrals. Nope, I made a beeline for the sorbet shades in figure flattering fabrics and I’d like to share the cream of the crop with you!

I’m just shy of 46, got a wine tum and some bingo wings on me and have stumpy legs for a skinny bird, so dressing right is key to a flattering silhouette, I think I got it right with these ones. As with all H&M dresses, the sizing is crazy, I needed different sizes in each style. Listed below.

First up, my favourite. This romantic rose of a dress, flouncing as I twirled for the camera. Flattering so well mainly because of the clever design of the waist, with these versatile sash belt.  I double tied it and knotted it in front to accentuate my waist and it worked a treat. An easy wear, easy care chiffon dream with a jersey underslip to keep you decent. I went for a size 10 and it was perfect. What do you think?

Mix it up by wearing with trainers to dress it down for town. These are from Step2wo shoes, the kids range, but they go up to a size 6 and are one of my favourite pairs ever!

Next up I went all lemon bon-bon, reminding me of my favourite childhood sweet treat but the structure of this dress makes it a very easy choice.

An elegant number at a purse-pleasing price, this double layer of pleated chiffon to the upper body gives a feeling of femininity whilst the nipped waist and calf-length lower half defines the shape and gives garden party vibes. The spaghetti straps give a delicate summer feel. I don’t know what kind of sorcery went on, but an 8 fitted me to a tee in this – major ego boost! Overripe banana or lemon drop of dreams? Opinions please in the comments!

And finally, this stunning H&M conscious thriller I picked up from the Oxford Street store just turns me to jelly. It is one of those dresses that make me feel amazing, all ethereal and floaty!
Not quite a snip at £119.99 but definitely a keeper! Easily worn as a kaftan on holiday but equally as elegant belted and worn around town – but be warned, anything other than beachwear and you will need a nude slip under it as it’s a bit Princess Di in the see-through stakes. Size ten on this one. What do you think of the style and more importantly, the price tag?

Which is your favourite dress? What do you think of H&M’s sizing? Have you tried anything from the Conscious range? I would love to know!

Until next time my lovelies xx

*Disclaimer: I was gifted two of theses three dresses by H&M with no obligation to do anything on my channels about them. But I love them and had to share*
