Party season is in full swing!

I’m hoping my liver and my eye bags will forgive me but life is for living and I’m making the most of the festivities this year in the run up to the big day.

One thing I get asked about a lot though, is how to style up a daytime outfit with tweaks that will take you to all these post work drinks and beyond.

This is a tricky one admittedly if you are not someone like me who happily wears sequins in the day, so off I went to centre:mk for some inspo for you guys.

I’d suggest something versatile where you only have to change your jewellery, or your top to flip the look to festive, like a statement skirt which you can dress down with a plain top and flats for day and stick on some killer heels and a sparkly top for evening.

I found this gorgeous sparkly chevron skirt in the sale in John Lewis. It works so well with a cosy jumper for day then a bit of sparkle by night. Throw in some statement earrings and a heel and you are good to go!

Same shop, different skirt, theres this fabulous lurex pink number, also in the sale. pumps by day, stilettos by night and you are on to a winner.

It has the swirl, the sparkle and the wow factor all rolled into one.

Now I love a  dress, it hides a multitude of sins and this stunning Ted Baker frock ticks my boxes as it is subtle enough for meetings in the day but can really wow when the lights go down. It hides my dodgy legs, is forgiving on the tummy and hides my bingo wings -what’s not to love?

Make up wise, simplicity is key. Top up your foundation – for me it’s Mac Studio Fix (I get mine from John Lewis) – then brighten the eye with a shimmer shadow like the ones in this Max Factor from Boots favourite of mine. You don’t need to be a beauty blogger to appreciate the swatches in this one, it just adds shine and va- va-voom for a party ready look.

If you want to go all out, the Charlotte Tilbury contour palette is a must, a swipe of the cheek and a touch of the brow and it’s an easy choice to shape the face for a more chiselled look.

A statement accessory will do the trick if you are wearing something simple….

In reality, you can dress up the most plain Jane of outfits with a statement earring and heel so don’t be afraid to keep it simple and not splurge too much on one night’s outfit. I guarantee after a few proseccos and a bit of a dance, you will wonder why you agonised so long over what to wear!

All of the things I’ve shown you here are available from my local shopping centre – centre:mk – in Milton Keynes – a real destination day out for the latest looks.

It’s looking gorgeous for the festive season so do visit and revel in all it has to offer!
