Woop woop, it’s Chriiiiiiiiiiiiiistmaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas!
The tree is up, the presents are wrapped – yes you can hate me now for my super organisational skills – and the only thing I have left to do is join the Christmas Eve Marks & Spencer’s scrum to bag the best brussel sprouts and turkey combo! I secretly love that though, adds to the excitement and it has become my own little Christmas tradition.
We went to Lapland UK with the kids a couple of weeks ago, check it out here, and that kickstarted the whole Crimbo bizzle in style.
Then we made gingerbread men biscuits to decorate the tree…. These were the outakes and I put my OCD to one side and let the children loose!
Kids covered, now on to us grown ups.
T’is the season to be tipsy people and everyone has their own personal guilty pleasure.
A traditional favourite drink among my merry band of mates is the Snowball, using family favourite Warninks Advocaat and it took centre stage last weekend when we had our annual Christmas Hootenanny – my favourite tradition of all!
First off, please click and watch my little vlog of our soiree and come back for lots of the goss from the party!
So we always do a secret Santa – as you may have seen in the vlog – and it gets cheekier every year! We always have a theme and this year the gift (under £10) had to start with the letters ‘F’ or ‘K’ as those are the initials of the girls among us who also celebrate their birthdays over the festive season – how much does that suck for birthday gifts as everyone is always so focused on Christmas??
Anyhoo, we went for it big time and some of them are a bit too cheeky to share here – well this is a family friendly blog after all – but trust me when I say some of the crew are very imaginitive (inserts winky emoji!)
We enjoyed the drink Nigella Lawson famously said she loves at Christmas – the Snowball.
Easy perfect party drink make – here’s how….
WARNINKS SNOWBALL FOR PARTY LOVERS
Moisten the rim of a wine glass and roll on a plate of chocolate powder until covered.
(We went for gold glitter because that’s how I roll!)
Shake 50ml of Warninks Advocaat &
25ml of freshly squeezed lime juice or cordial over ice
Strain into glass and top up with Lemonade or Soda
Garnish with chocolate shavings
So there are a few variations on the Snowball theme, including this
Snowball for cosy Christmas winter nights in:
Shake 50ml of Warninks Advocaat &
25ml of freshly squeezed lime juice or cordial together over ice
Strain into a martini glass
Top up with Lemonade or Soda
Float a scroll of cinnamon bark on top and garnish with one star anise
sprinkle with cinnamon
Job done!
This Christmas, share your festive jumper snaps and Christmas traditions using the #NowItsChristmas hastag on social media.
Warninks is available in Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons, Waitrose and all your fave supermarkets with any human decency at all.
*This is a collaborative post with Warninks but as you can see all festive frivolity is my own. Merry Christmas everyone xx

Stop this talk of being organised at Chrimbo! I will be running around like a headless chicken spending way more that I should. Next year I will plan. I will be organised.
I lie!
Happy Christmas Gorgeous! X

Oh gosh you’ve reminded me to buy my Warninks! We’re having the family over for Christmas Lunch and this would make a great after dinner drink. Am bookmarking! Thanks for linking to #pocolo and for the reminder! 😉
