Some people (mainly blokes I guess) dread Valentines Day – buying into all that commercialised crap and paying through the nose for a dozen under par blooms just to tick the right romantic boxes.
Most of us, however, would be happy with a small token of our beau’s esteem, as long as it is thoughtful, and spontaneous. It’s not that hard lads, honestly! Much more preferable is treating us like your Queen 365 but since we can’t all have that, Valentines Day tokens of appreciation deffo come into play.
So for my sure fire winner Valentines Gift Guide, I’ve compiled an attainable list from £3.50 to £30+ which will bring your beloved luxury without the price tag.
First off though, If you have both sworn off gifts, you are way beyond all this commercialised nonsense – there’s no excuse not to give something back. £10 quid gets you karma by the bucketload as these festival funky glasses not only will be the talking point of the day – trust me, happens to me every time I sport them) but you will be helping a not-for-profit charity which teaches villages in Malawi to become self sustainable. Supported by peeps like Rudimental, they are so on trend and real life saviours. Get yours here, in multi colour way options.
Now, let me assure you, if you lovingly craft a little at-home pamper pack for your Valentine, it will go down a treat but simply must include this £3.50 wonder mask! It has taken Instagram by storm for good reason. Pop one of these treats on and Zen auto-ensues. If you are feeling generous, treat her to a box of five but whatever you do, make sure these are on your agenda.
Next up, there’s the obligatory bottle of fizz. You could just pop down the local Co-op and grab whichever is on special offer or, you could go the extra mile (which is always a welcome gesture!) and gift her a bottle with style and panache!
Bottega have a range of fancy pants options and this rose gold bottle ticks so many options. Not only will you get major brownie points on how pretty it looks and how it compliments her copper themed decor, but she can double it up as a vase when the last bit of fizz has been downed! If you really feel generous, this specially packed box set from Selfridges includes two engraved glasses so you have the fizzy moment all set up.
Going practical is never a bad thing even at Valentines Day. If you want to give the gift that she will use day in, day out for added value, then this LanaiBLO hairdryer and Tangle Angel brush are great stylish options. Well, pretty much most of us ladies have hair or wigs right? So to make that styling chore that little bit more pleasurable, provide your lady with the right tools for the job. You can even have this hairdryer personalised and a cute little heart on it if you order by 5th Feb, so she is reminded every day of your love, lol!
For the brush that ticks the rose gold box, I went for this one but it is also available in silver, black etc etc and packs a punch when it comes to getting rid of knots.
Now, possibly my favourite ever Valentines gift, Build My Gift allows the buyer to choose from a huge selection of options, starting from a few pounds and going up to your own set limit.
I couldn’t believe the range of options on the website, it’s so easy to make a cute little affordable treat box or to build a big mutha posh package.
All the fragrance options you could wish for, I went for this gorgeous Burberry scent which I had been lusting after for ages, a mini bottle of Bottega in gold this time, a luxury choc treat from our long time family favourite chocolatier Charbonnel Et Walker, and something practical that I really needed, a set of eyelash curlers from Skinny Dip I’d been meaning to buy for ages.
I will be honest with you (as always) I had no idea how absolutely gorgeous this would be when I opened it! Something right outta Instagram – I was thrilled with it, the tiny flowers a stunning surprise. Their attention to detail is en pointe my friends!
Now, If you want to choose something with that ‘must-have’ vibe, something a little bit hot off the press, I have had the joy of discovering Viktor & Rolf’s latest drop – Flowerbomb Nectar. It is exclusive to Debenhams for February, and the already iconic range is complemented by this sexy new scent with more floral notes than ever before to stimulate the senses.
Spectrum brushes are my absolute faves, you all already know that – did you see my recent interview with the super sisters who founded this fab brand? – and as usual they’ve pulled it outta the bag quite literally with this cute as kittens Valentine offering.
So, if that doesn’t get you in the mood for giving love this Valentines, I’m done!
Until next time my lovelies xxxx
