It is officially Autumn guys but bizarrely warm for October so whats a girl to wear?
Well the other day I ventured into my treasure trove, a.k.a. the loft and looked out my fave winter coats, donned one to nip into town for the foodshop – Aldi, when will you home deliver???? – and I was SUCH a sweaty Betty…..that was NOT fun! We are definitely not at the hot and heavy stage yet.
Fortunately, the trans-seasonal saviour is the Trench and I am a bit of a connoisseur of them – last count 5 – in varying degrees of colours and styles, but every girl needs a new season update so when Jacques Vert launched their brand spanking new range, I was all over it!!!
Also just landed is a super chic new A/W leather bag range to rival Miu Miu and I was asked to put my favourite one through it’s paces. Here is a little vlog of my unboxing these treats, and a little look at how I wore them – enjoy!
Jacques Vert have waved the quintessentially British wand over a key wardrobe staple and have created a trio of choices. I heart the combo of beige and black more than my fave pair of Louboutins, it’s a great statement over a sleek black silhouette and also versatile enough to be super smart over suits for formal meetings.
Traditionally, the key features of a trench are double-breasted with 10 front buttons, has wide lapels, a storm flap on the rear and pockets that button-close. Belted at the waist, as well as having straps around the wrists that also buckle – to keep water from running down the forearm in the rain – as well as shoulder straps that button-close.
J.V. has taken all of these essentials and given them an on trend twist with contrasting trim and a truly luxurious feel.
My day always starts with the school run, regardless of what blogging work or meetings will fill the rest of my day, so it has to be practical, have a modicum of protection from the elements, i.e. not so thin you can spit peas through it and look chic, all at once.
So I pulled on my new threads, grabbed the golden boy’s scooter and got ready to put them to the test for a school run style piece.
It’s conker season so it was all about collecting those shiny browns – good job my coat had deep pockets!
I love the contrast trim, contemporary design and timeless British elegance stamped on this trench and my arm candy rocks too!
This retails at £149 as well and pence per wear, it’s going to work out a real steal!
My favourite black suede fringed boots were the perfect pairing for this outfit.
Obvs I had to Gok the bag up a smidge with this season’s (and last’s!) obligatory pom pom – but why stop at one when two will do?
I had all my essentials in it with plenty of free space as you can see below.
However you wear yours, these Autumn beauties are top of my must-have list!
Those lovely people at Jacques Vert would love to treat one of my super stylish readers to a whopping £100 to spend online with them! You know the drill by now guys, simply enter via the Rafflecopter widget below and good luck!
