Fashion Gets Fit
Well, the January gym rush is well and truly in full swing! I know this to be the case because I cannot get booked into my fave classes or get a space in the car park at the gym for love nor money!!! Grrr!
But when the New Year’s resolution crew move out in February back to the nooks and crannies of disillusionment, I will still be there, squatting and spinning with the best of them. I recently wrote a heartfelt post about rearranging my life/work balance which was published on Huffington Post and that plan is now in full swing.
So, armed with determination and a need for speed, I turned up on Tuesday, the very day the children went back to school, clad in colourful lycra and with a steely determination in my eyes! Spin class first and our newly refurb’d David Lloyd club held a welcome return for me. Cardio tennis followed and It was great meeting up with some of my girls and then grabbing a coffee and catch up afterwards,
Any stylish gym goer (and mine is packed to the rafters with them!) knows it’s a colourful world of leisurewear out there, with most High Street retailers clamouring to get in on the fash-fit act. My last post was a guide to the top 5 get fit events for 2016, so have a look at that here, sign up and start working your #goals!
Fit has never looked so fab and here are some of my top picks
I picked up a gorgeous pair of mid calf capri pants from TKMaxx earlier today, a snip at £14.99 and I know these wash and wear beautifully as I buy from their range all the time!
Browsing online I found these from one of my all-time faves, Esprit.
I love how colourful these are and I quite fancy teaming them with their cute sports T, probably with a similarly pinky-hued racer back underneath.
You can’t beat a bit of Sweaty Betty and I love this colourful tank top, I’d layer it over a funky sportsbra & essential black bottoms to jazz them up a bit! The drop waistband cleverly flatters will hiding the muffin top til we can work it off!
I also love love love this junk- in- the- trunk hugging geo print combo but I will need to smash loads more squats before I could pull off this lush look!
Lululemon is by far my (pricey!) guilty pleasure when it comes to sportsgear, with innovation and imagination fusing into some fab pieces, this is my current lusthave! It’s parky out there and rather than throwing a boring zipper over my gear, I’d have this jacket on my wishlist!
Nike really do rock the block when it comes to covering all bases. I’ve never felt so good as when I pull on a new pair of customised NIKE ID’s and head off for a workout! I love that it costs not a jot more to have them personalised than it would to buy the regular version! These are my most recent ID’s but I’m sure I’m due an update pretty soon, they’ve seen a lot of (gym!) action!
And because one pair of shoes is never enough for us ladies, I found these in my Christmas Stocking this year! I am a huge fan of Stella McCartney and her ongoing collab with Adidas never disappoints! I love these, they feel like I have wings on my feet, and to be honest, the way I ‘play’ tennis, I need all the help I can get!
Whats your fave selection? What are your fitness goals this year?

My goal this year is to take up running and run a 5K before the end of the year. I’m currently on the lookout for some nice but reasonable active wear. I hadn’t considered TK Maxx! I had seen some nice lime green stuff in Tesco but I just realised my shoes are pink!!

I really need to upgrade my gym workout gear. I’ve only just recently signed up to the gym and really need some new gymwear as I go like 3-4 times a week and need something to switch up too. These Esprit pieces look really good. I’ll be sure to give their site a peruse.
Thanks xo

Since I practically live in leggings, these are right up my street. If I could actually combine wearing them with some exercise, I’d be on to a winner. I love TK Maxx too but it’s a bit random as to whether you’re going to find anything decent.

I think TKMaxx’s range is getting bigger and better, especially now Christmas is done! Glad you found some inspo on the post 🙂
