Today is a very exciting day for me! Not only is it a lovely family bank Holiday Monday, but more than that, it’s the day that I launch my weekly Ginger Blogger award.

I had an overwhelming urge to reward fellow bloggers on a regular basis with some kind of badge of recognition and teamed up with a creative designer friend who dreamed up the unique & pretty twitter badge to suit the need.

There are literally thousands of bloggers these days and it’s ever so hard to find a place for your voice in a very busy world, so I thought I’d help someone shout a bit louder each week by highlighting their talents. It’s not everyone who can write a blog successfully, it takes talent, and time and dedication. Many do it for hours on end every day or week and never get paid a bean for it, others are very successful and make money from it. Whichever camp you fall into, the effort and love contributed is no less valuable than the other.

Now my big concern was that my fellow bloggers may wonder why  I had the right to judge, but I can only say that I too am an avid reader of blogs and if something grabs my attention, it likely will delight the tens of thousands of other readers too. I am also an old hand at blogging, I do it professionally, and have been ghost blogging for a long time now, having only recently launched my own eponymous blog.

So I’m looking forward to announcing the first winner. The only stipulations to be included are that the blogger tweets me on a Monday between 8am & 8pm with the #GMBA plus a link to the blog post they have written and are most proud of. Soon after the closing time of 8pm, I will announce that week’s winner and they contact the design company to receive their personalised twitter badge which can be added to their blog or profile.

I hope we can show our support of each other by retweeting our favourites from the day, and the winner will get lots of mentions from myself and fellow bloggers in their winning week of glory.
