Pledge For Parity
March 8 sees International Women’s Day come around once more where mothers, grandmothers, sisters, daughters, girlfriends and wives alike are celebrated as one.
It comes as no revelation that modern women, despite pushing the boundaries in the most challenging of careers, shattering glass ceilings and meeting men head on in every possible profession and walk of life, are still sadly battling some ridiculously antiquated traditions and barbaric practices taking place around the world which continue to push women firmly into second place and hold the female species back from being respected as equals.
As www.internationalwomensday.com says: Progress is being made, we do have female astronauts and prime ministers, school girls are welcomed into university, women can work and have a family, women have real choices. However, the unfortunate fact is that women are still not paid equally to that of their male counterparts, women still are not present in equal numbers in business or politics, and globally women’s education, health and the violence against them is worse than that of men.
International Women’s Day (IWD) continues its quest to highlight awareness of the ongoing fight for gender parity and also to celebrate the personal triumphs enjoyed by millions of women around the world every single day.
This year, IWD will focus on every individual making their own personal pledge. One which holds them accountable in their efforts for change. Pledge for parity, step it up for Gender Equality.
Having two sons, one hurtling towards double digits and becoming all too soon aware of real world issues and challenges, gender equality is paramount in my mind as we try to instill values and ethics in their lives.
I pledge to teach my sons to respect women in all aspects of life and to treat them as equals at all times.
Empowering brand MYPROTEIN have risen to the challenge and their pledge to you is a continued commitment to quality and to step up the innovation and new ranges. MYPROTEIN are Europe’s No.1 online sports nutrition brand and they believe there should be no boundaries to what we can achieve as individuals. They would like to reward one lucky lady with a bumper bundle of goodies worth £90, in celebration of IWD2016.
All you have to do is enter via the Rafflecopter widget below.
What will you pledge for International Women’s Day 2016?
