Mars Bar No-Bake Cake: Warning – this dish can seriously damage your waistline!!!
For those of you who have read my ‘Girls Night In’ post, you will be no stranger to this creation. For the rest of you, come on, catch up! This dessert is best served after Nicky’s Secret Dip, recipe here!
This is the easiest, quickest traybake I have ever made, it is great for ‘cooking’ with the kids, minimum mess and no-bake makes for an easy dessert. It’s simply crunchtastic, it’s a recipe my ladies and I have adapted from the original one we saw all over facebook which was Mars Bar Malteser Cake, by CreateBakeMake. Our girl Kirsty is guilty of sharing it, so thanks from our waistlines hon!
Never happy with what we have, we felt the need to explore other additions to this tasty delight and found that Crunchie, was by far the best partner to an already jam-packed dish, but you can always improve on perfection – right?
Ingredients
- 1 Tin Condensed Milk – we have the cheek to buy the ‘light’ version!
- 1 400g bar of Galaxy Milk Chocolate (or whatever yummy brand is on offer)
- 1 pack of Tesco value Choc Chip cookies or similar
- 4 regular bars of crunchie
- 1 pack of mini Mars Bars or Crazy Caramels if you are doing a Tesco Shop
- 400g box of Maltesers
- 1 tablespoon of Vegetable Oil
- 200g of butter
Melt the 200g of butter in a pan with 3/4 of the tin of condensed milk.
Meanwhile chop all the scrummy choc products into small chunks.
Once the butter mixture is smooth and blended, add the chopped chocolate combinations & the crushed cookies all together thoroughly.
When fully moist & covered, spoon into a suitable traybake dish. Flatten to an even mixture with the back of a metal spoon. Place in fridge for half an hour or until it’s had a chance to cool sufficiently.
Meanwhile melt the large bar of chocolate over a low heat, adding one teaspoon of vegetable oil until smooth and lickable. Remove chilling mixture from fridge, pour over melted chocolate.
Pop back in the fridge but make sure to remove before it has completely set and cut into slices, topping off the slice with Maltesers to decorate.
Chuck it back in the fridge for as long as you can resist – (ideally around an hour and a half) and devour!
Have you tried any other additions to this combo? I’d love to see them! Yuuuuum!

Hi there can I ask a couple of questions:
1 – What do you do with the last quarter of the condensed milk, can I just eat it?
2- How much of the 400g of maltesers go in the cake and how much is used to decorate?
Ginger Mum
Hi Laura 🙂
1. If you boil it up for long enough it turns into caramel which is delicious!!
2. 3:1 with the 1 being the topping I’d say, but it’s all down to personal taste x Enjoy! x
