Hallowe’en is coming! The nights are fair drawing in people – heating is on and the winter woolies have resurfaced!!

Urgh, not my fave time of year I have to admit but it does have some benefits in the shape of exciting new menus in the centre:mk restaurants, Hallowe’en drinks and the promise of Christmas party menus to come!

I was in picking up some Hallowe’en goodies with the children yesterday and as Milton Keynes is in the throes of half term – the place was buzzing with spooky solutions!

We started off at Costa, well they say never shop on an empty stomach so we took that literally!

Full of seasonal offerings, it was hard not to resist a cheeky Christmas toastie or the Bonfire spiced hot chocolate – with a side of muffin of course!

One thing I’ve always loved are the babychinos the coffee shops do for the younger ones, free of charge, helping us out in the purse and making the little ones feel part of things. Dominic loves them!

Always a slave to my sweet tooth, I caved and added my eternal weakness – a sicillian lemon muffin whilst the boys, true to form, went for chocolate overload.

The shops are choc full of spooky offerings this week for hallowe’en and my fave was the spooky themed window of Waterstones which lured Dominic in – anything that keeps them reading is a winner with me!

As you walk the huge halls in centre:mk there are goodies luring you in all around and the sampling at Hotel Chocolat didn’t escape our notice!

Once we had shopped a bit the boys were hungry for lunch and it was a toss up between Wagamama for their new Ramen menu or Cafe Rouge for their scrummy winter warmers.

Since we go to Wagamama so often, (as you will see if you follow me on Instagram!) we felt we should give one of my personal favourites Cafe Rouge some love.

SO much to choose from, here’s a taste bud tingling look at their new options, from Pork Schnitzel which conjures up feelings of Christmas markets to comfort food at it’s finest, chicken chasseur.

Not to leave out the lush puds! From a champagne afternoon tea (which I always think is a fab stocking filler idea!) to chocolate dipped doughnuts….

Winner winner chicken dinner.

We love that the shops and pop ups in the centre have gone all out for Hallowe’en, even the gelato giant Giovanni’s has spooked up their sorbets!

So when you are thinking of half term things to do this week – centre:mk is a must!

Until next time lovelies!
