Time for a new review of some of the latest offerings from JCB kids as part of our role as family Brand Ambassadors and before I could even decide the angle of my post, Dominic had them out of the packaging and was using his cool new digger before I had a chance to say ‘unboxing’.
Coincidentally, we spontaneously decided to go to the beach at the weekend and treat ourselves to an overnight in not-too-far-away Norfolk.
I couldn’t part Dominic from his new JCB Kids toy so of course it had to come with us. Turned out rather well as he took it to the beach to play with and I managed to get some nice piccies which make a nice change from the bog standard look-at-these-toys-I’m-playing-with-in-my-lounge jobs!
Excitingly, Spring is literally just around the corner, you can see it in the baby shoots sprouting from last year’s sparse branches and plants. So we had one of those bitingly cold but beautiful pre-spring days for our short staycation and we loved every second of it.
Beaches at every turn to choose from, we plumped for Holkham beach and enjoyed smooth sandy walks with the children playing beat the wave in a water based version of Ninja Warriors.
Remote controlled beach buggies zoomed around us as various families pimped up their weekend walks and our boys enjoyed the spectacle immensely.
As my children are obsessed with friends of the canine variety – though we are strictly a no pet family – they were delighted to be surrounded with fluffy pups, soggy dogs and playful pedigrees on the beach and loved watching them brave the sub-zero temperatures for a cheeky paddle.
Good clean family fun, warming hot chocolate stops and tons of fresh air without a device in sight – it was as pure a weekend as we’ve had in a long time.
A telling sign of a great break is if you are already planning your return before you even start your homeward journey and that’s exactly what happened with us in Norfolk.
When we got home, Dominic was keen to give the smaller JCB kids toy digger to my gorgeous Godson, Joshua, who lives just a few steps away from our house.
Eyes to get lost in and hair like fine silk, this cutie loves his JCB kids gifts and Dominic loved sharing his spoils with him.
My boy is such a kindly wee soul, loves to give and share what he has and I really hope that’s a trait he retains throughout his life.
Meanwhile Joshua set about making the most of his haul, and he has quite the collection going on! That’s what we love about JCB kids most – you are never too young OR too old to love a good digger!
Do your kids love imaginative play with diggers and other transport toys? What are their faves?
Disclosure: This is a collaborative post with JCB kids but all our opinions and reviews are our own words and feelings as always
