Let’s dive right into the star of the show: the menu. Las Iguanas presents you with a passport to Latin America’s diverse culinary landscape. Choosing what to savour from this extensive selection might be the toughest decision of your day.
We kicked off our tasty journey with the irresistible sharing tacos. These protein packed pockets were an appetising harbinger of the culinary delights to come. Bursting with a flavourful mixture of your choice, from Copacobana caulie bites to garlicky chilli and thyme mushrooms or smoky shredded chipotle offerings, they were accompanied by a zesty array of dressings that left us pretty full from the get go.
Our expedition through the menu led us to Brazil, and what a delightful journey it was. The Bahian Coconut Chicken, a rich and creamy dish, was a highlight. Infused with the tantalising tones of ginger, tomatoes, garlic and coriander, it transported the tongue to the far off sunny beaches of Bahia.
Equally captivating was the sizzling mixed fajita stack. Each bite was packed with taste explosions and the generous portions left us wholly satisfied.
No visit to Las Iguanas is complete without sampling their inventive libations. Embark on a delightful adventure through their extensive cocktail menu – their award winning signature cocktail Caipirinha should be your first port of call. This classic Brazilian concoction, blending cachaça, lime, and sugar, is the perfect balance of sweet and tangy or opt for the Funking cocktail strawberry infusion to up the ante on the syrupy nectar.
Even after our filling flavour-packed journey through starters and mains, we couldn’t resist indulging in some Latin sweet treats. The Churros Grande were a traditional dessert delight, ten cinnamon sugar dusted knots served with a trio of dips. If you’re a fan of sweet endings, this dessert will send your taste buds into a rapturous tango.
Throughout our visit to Las Iguanas, the service was flawless. The staff’s passion for the food and the culture shone through, as they guided us through the menu, offering recommendations and ensuring our glasses were never empty. Their attentiveness and knowledge added an extra layer of enjoyment to our dining experience.
