Often when us mums have a rare bit of time without children, its actually spent chasing our tails, catching up on chores and jobs that we don’t usually have time to do when the kids are running rings round us.

But on the odd occasion, everyone needs to just down tools and STOP. Just STOP.

No washing, no cleaning, nose-wiping, lunch-making,  cooking or any other such essential domestic duties. That’s what Crocs asked me to do for their latest campaign. Just be, and take a #momsdayoff!

So what’s a girl to do? Well it’s a given that a little retail therapy needs to be factored in, wearing my comfiest shopping shoes to date! These Crocs are a huge departure from the styles my kids adore for summertime. Now chic for mummy’s feet too!

Hitting Bond Street with my mum is definitely a relaxing pastime, except when she decides to get serious in Selfridges – that woman can shop!

So we had a lovely little mooch around, made a couple of gorgeous purchases and just had a lovely catch up and good old gossip! I made the fatal mistake of popping into the food hall – everything is so vibrant and bursting with life in there!!! Not as kind on the pocket as Aldi though!image

I had a quick pit stop for a haircut – long long overdue! – and something that’s usually tricky to fit in. I love having my tresses teased, so relaxing and I feel lighter and more uplifted afterwards. Since my hair was on fleek, I popped to the MAC counter for a bit of a face lift, always come away from there feeling 10 years younger!! Turns out they were doing Prosecco with their makeovers that day – result!

After that, a bit of late lunch was in order. All that shopping is hungry work! And lunch minus kids is always serene and relaxing, no cooking, no clattering cutlery, no squabbling – well as long as my mum doesn’t pinch my dish! – and no bribery to get the main course finished before they start grumbling for dessert! So a grown-up trip to Wagamama followed and we got stuck right in.

Sharing the salted Edamame beans to start, followed by Chicken Firecracker for me and Salmon for mum, we feasted and still felt quite healthy afterwards thanks to the  gorgeous  Asian cuisine being waaaay better for us than a saucy pasta or the like.

As the day ran away from us, we nipped back to the first shop we started in – isn’t that what everyone does? – and grabbed the bits we’d decided on through out our day.

As I drove us home, my little pedicured porkies were aching! I couldn’t wait to get back, change into my comfy clothes and veg out! London is fabulous but it sure takes it’s toll on the toes!

Easing my soles into my sparkly Crocs for the drive back was a moment of sheer unadulterated bliss and I let my feet spread out and feel nuzzled by the massaging foam bumps all over the soles as I headed back to the mothership.
