Social Media is choc-full of #inspo and #upliftingquotations and I regularly draw of some of the better ones for a bit of motivation. With this in mind I thought I’d put together my fave top 20. This sparkly one is my mantra in life as I’m sure everyone who knows me will testify! My home is an homage to shimmer and shine (hopefully a tasteful one!) and I pretty much bleed sparkles. Who doesn’t need a sprinkle of glitter in their lives?
I put this one on my Instagram ages ago and it got such a great response, I think lots of work-from-homers can really identify with this. There is no better feeling than the days when you are not feeling 100% but can blog in your PJ’s or just decide your own schedule for the day. There are of course, a few cons to WFH but for me, the pros are immense! I love it, I feel very blessed not to have to juggle the daily commute, this is how I feel on a Monday morning…..
I’ve always done this, compared myself to to others…’they are a better x.y. or z than me’…’I don’t do it as well as they do’…’I should be able to do that’…..’I’m just not good enough’..etc….but since I hit my 40’s (40 again this year!) I have FINALLY let go of this and the feeling of freedom is TREMENDOUS! I wrote this post about accepting my insecurities and I love this quote because it keeps me on the straight and narrow.
One of the most common things other mums speak to me about since I became a parent is the killer curse of sleep deprivation. I wrote this post about it and this pictoquote pretty much sums it up! I do believe sound sleep and selective hearing is in the male DNA!
This one is so relevant right now, I’m getting back into the gym big time and need to remember it shouldn’t be a chore but a choice. Not easy considering I’m a bit of a lightweight but I’m getting there slowly but surely!
In the same vein, I love this double dunter..
There is no greater gift you can give to your child than time and one of my favourite things to do is to read with my sons. I love watching their imaginations careering off into colourful dimensions when a book sparks their interest.
Because parenting is a tricky balance, but this ideal is always close to my thoughts
You can never say this too much….or kiss or hug them too much either…
For those times in life when letting go with love is a no-brainer….
I never understand the mindset which makes other women knock down successful women. Jealousy, probably. Surely together we are stronger?
If in doubt, think ‘what would Beyonce Do?’ Do women come any more sassy or successful than La Knowles?
No matter where life takes you, stay true to yourself and keep chic! My ultimate style icon, Coco Chanel has spawned a million wall art quotes with this golden nugget:
This is how my mind operates every day, and my laptop! So true…..
We are not here for a long time, we are here for a good time, so make every moment count!
Good blogging quotes are hard to come by, well at least I have found few which resonate with me, but this one makes me chuckle as it’s so on point!
But on a serious note, this one sums up how I feel every time I hit publish….and I hope it shines through! I love my job so much!
Blogging is where my heart lies, my happy place. Every day I am surprised by the opportunities which come my way in what is a fulfillment of my lifelong dream to be a writer. I thought I was already living my dream, but every day I see, as with every one of us, the sky is my limit!
This is one of my all-time favourites and represents the joy I feel in where I am in my life right now. It’s taken a (very) long time and lots of different vocations, lashings of hard work and many disappointments, but I’m finally here and let’s face it, life is too short for anything less!
What’s your favourite inspirational quote? Share the love!

Oooh love this post darling & have pinned lots of them to my Pinterest account. I do love an inspirational quote or 10. My favourites have to be:
– “I really regret that workout” said no-one, ever!
-Being fat is hard. Being slim is hard. Pick your hard.
-“A party without a cake is just a meeting” – Julia Childs
-Life isn’t about waiting for the storm to pass, it’s about learning to dance in the rain.
-Music is what feelings sound like.
-Be a fountain, not a drain.
-Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.
-Let her sleep, for when she wakes she will move mountains.
-Bring your own sunshine.
Gosh, I could go on all day! 🙂
