Landing in Orlando, where should your first pit-stop be to feed the hungry tums? Not easy when you’ve never been there before! Well, we kindly did the hard work for you (you’re welcome!) on our first (of many) visits to the vast choice of eateries last summer. We tasted and salivated our way round the Sunshine State and I’ve collated our fave foodie picks for you so you guys don’t have to gamble with your gullet at the potential culinary catastrophies available on every corner. Just get stuck in to 10 of the best! Also, my post on what to do in Disney World Florida with Kids, here, might just be just the advice you need for all your other vacations stations. Enjoy!

1. I-Hop

For breakfast, there’s only one place for us (and everyone else we’ve ever known to visit Orlando!) and thats super cheesy, fabulously friendly I-Hop.  Get in line for great value, easy dining for families and simply sets you up for the day.

2. Steak ‘N’ Shake

Our absolute favourite! Don’t let the crazily low prices put you off, these burgers ‘n’ fries are as good as you will get anywhere else, but leave you loads of lolly for shopping in the outlet stores! We discovered it quite late into our second visit but have never looked back – There are loads of branches, it’s totally scrummy and they do the best Oreo Milkshakes we’ve ever tasted!

3.  Longhorns Steakhouse

This cheerful chain is hands down, the best steakhouses we found. Food is fresh, great value for money and the steaks are actually bred exclusively for Longhorns and the taste shines through.

4. The Cheescake factory

if you are not calorie shy, this staple restaurant will thrill your tastebuds and you don’t even have to like cheescake to love this place! Extensive menus and desserts to die for, it’s a winner!

5. Changs Chinese

It is not easy to find a great Chinese restaurant abroad, believe me, we’ve tried! After a few dodgy deals, we rely on Changs for a quality yummy meal every time.

T_Rex

6. T-Rex Cafe, DisneySprings

For a fab experience for the kids, T-Rex in the former Downtown Disney rocks! Pre-historic scary dinos abound and the atmosphere is fab. So much choice on the menu but make sure your credit card is in credit! Book months in advance – this place is popular, but their website is great!!!!

7. Millers Alehouse

For a traditional American bar with pool tables, wall to wall sports on tap, and awesome prices, Millers is the must-do choice.  The food is uber reasonable, the portions huge and the choice enormous! Job done!

8. House Of Blues

If Jazz and Blues are your bag, leave it to HOB to cater to your needs. You can kick back and enjoy the big easy with a few drinks or go for a Gospel brunch. The menu includes juicy steaks, tantalizing salads and decadent desserts.

9. Chillis

Their $20 dinner for 2 won’t bust your bank balance but will fire Cupids bow. Nice and spicy, plenty of choice, you just cant go wrong here.

10. Bubba Gump

Now, it’s not my bag, but I think I’d be in big trouble with regular Orlando-goers if I didn’t mention this fish friendly favourite! Even for fish-phobes like me, there are plenty of alternatives available. Great for families and even better for groups, Bubba’s sure make you welcome every time.

So that’s my top 10, where do you love to eat in Orlando?
